Therapy Dogs
There’s something truly special about a dog’s ability to make people feel seen, calm, and cared for. That’s what Therapy Dog work is all about — creating meaningful moments of connection between dogs and the people who need them most.
As part of Therapy Dogs Canada, my goal is to help certified teams bring comfort and joy into spaces like hospitals, schools, care homes, workplaces, libraries, and more. Each certified team can choose where they want to volunteer — whether that’s sitting with seniors in long-term care, visiting students, or working with veterans and first responders.
Therapy Dogs aren’t service dogs — they’re community dogs who share their love and calm presence with others. Teams go through a certification process to ensure they’re confident, gentle, and ready to take on this special role.
Being a Therapy Dogs Canada Evaluator, I’m excited to help others start their own Therapy Dog journey. Whether you’re just curious about what’s involved or you already think your dog might be a great fit, I’d love to chat and help guide you through the process.
